Note: These training videos are the same videos you will experience when you take the full Paediatric First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) program. Your progress in watching these videos WILL NOT be tracked. You may begin the Paediatric First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) training at any time to start officially tracking your progress toward certification.
Before we start this course, we will first look at what will be covered during the training. The course is dived into categories and in each category, there are a number of videos. You can pause and watch again any video on the course. We update our courses regularly and you will be able to see the replacement and new videos as they are released.

You work through the course videos in order and to give you an idea of what the course will cover, the categories and videos on this course are:
Firstly, paediatric first aid provision, fears of first aid, scene safety, chain of survival, DRAB and ABCDs, how to use face shields, initial assessment, recovery position, paediatric first aid kits and first aid and infection control.
Cardiac arrest and CPR is also included in this course. We will cover; CPR for both adults, infants and children, drowning, compressions only CPR, CPR hand over, resuscitation of children, improving compression and breaths and AED.
Heart attack and stroke are also covered within this course along with adult, infant and child choking.
Bleeding control is another category included in the Paediatric First Aid Course, demonstrating how to remove embedded objects from the body, how to deal with serious external bleeding and the healing process.
The Injury category within this course will inform you on subjects such as; strains and sprains, anaphylaxis, eye injuries, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, hyperventilation and how to deal with foreign objects in the eye, ear or nose.
We will also be talking about the injuries and illnesses in children. This will cover; childhood illnesses and accidents, paediatric asthma, fractures, splints, head injuries, meningitis, sickle cell, febrile convulsions and croup.
This course has approximately 6 hours’ worth of videos.
